Revelstoke, BC
The Vibe
Revelstoke is the heavyweight of Canadian powder skiing, famous for its endless vertical and deep storms rolling in from the Pacific. Lodging in town can drain your wallet fast, but the good news? Van and truck camper culture is alive and well just outside the resort.
Overnight Parking Beta
Where to Sleep: Plenty of pull-offs along Airport Way (map link below) host a quiet lineup of rigs, truck campers, and stealth vans. It is unregulated, and no one seems to mind as long as you keep it low-key and respectful
Cost: Free (for now)
Rules: There are no posted rules, but stick to the unwritten code: no trash, no fires, keep noise down
Amenities: None. These are pure boondock spots, so arrive self-contained and ready to embrace the dirtbag spirit
Pro Move: Scope your pull-off during daylight. Some fill up after lifts close, especially during storm cycles.
Après and Showers
The real hack for Revy lot life is the Revelstoke Community Centre. For $8 CAD, you get access to:
Showers
Sauna
Hot tub
Pool (full of kids)
After a day shredding pow and riding gondolas into the clouds, nothing feels better than peeling off your frozen base layers and steam-bathing the soreness away. Expect to see the same rigs you passed on Airport Way parked out front after the lifts close.
The Skiing
This is Revelstoke, you already know. 5,600 vertical feet of glory, massive alpine bowls, spicy tree lines, and some of the best storm skiing in North America If you are storm chasing, watch for Pacific systems lining up. When Revy is on, it is on. It’s especially great because you can ride the upper mountain separate from the lower mountain. If you have bad weather like we did on the lower mountain, it will likely still be incredible on the upper mountain.
Why We Love It
Plenty of free overnight pull-offs
$8 showers and sauna at the Community Centre
A world-class mountain without the high-roller lodging price tag
The kind of parking lot community that restores your faith in ski bums
